The Archer VR400 combines a VDSL/ADSL modem and dual-band Wi-Fi router in one device, helping eliminate the need for separate networking equipment. It supports VDSL2 connections of up to 100Mbps and ADSL2+ connections of up to 24Mbps, depending on the broadband service available.

For wireless connectivity, the router delivers combined AC1200 Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1.2Gbps, with up to 867Mbps on 5GHz and 300Mbps on 2.4GHz. The two bands allow compatible devices to connect to the band best suited to their needs, helping reduce congestion and improve the overall wireless experience.

With MU-MIMO technology, the VR400 can communicate with multiple compatible devices more efficiently. Beamforming helps focus wireless transmission toward connected devices for improved coverage and stability, particularly on the 5GHz band.

The router is also suitable for modern fibre and cable installations when used with an external modem or ONT. Its dedicated Ethernet WAN/LAN port can accept an internet connection from a fibre or cable modem, while the USB 2.0 port can support compatible 3G/4G USB dongles as a backup internet connection.

For wired networking, the Archer VR400 provides Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, making it suitable for computers, Smart TVs, gaming consoles, NAS devices and other bandwidth-intensive wired equipment.

The TP-Link Tether app makes everyday management simple, allowing users to manage their network, guest Wi-Fi, and parental controls from compatible Android and iOS devices. The router also supports OneMesh on compatible hardware/firmware, allowing users to extend coverage with compatible TP-Link OneMesh devices.
