The TP-Link Archer C6 AC1200 is a dual-band gigabit wireless router supporting MU-MIMO, Beamforming, and EasyMesh/OneMesh technology for whole-home coverage.
The Archer C6 delivers 867Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 300Mbps on 2.4GHz, providing an AC1200-class wireless network. The 5GHz band is ideal for bandwidth-intensive activities such as HD/4K streaming and online gaming, while 2.4GHz provides wider compatibility and coverage for everyday devices.
Its MU-MIMO technology allows the router to communicate with multiple compatible devices simultaneously, helping improve network efficiency when several devices are active. Beamforming concentrates wireless signals toward connected clients, while Airtime Fairness helps prevent slower devices from occupying disproportionate wireless airtime.
For wired networking, the Archer C6 features 1 × Gigabit WAN and 4 × Gigabit LAN ports, making it an excellent match for high-speed broadband connections and wired devices such as gaming consoles, Smart TVs, PCs, NAS storage, and network switches.
The router also supports EasyMesh on applicable versions, allowing compatible TP-Link networking devices to work together to create a more seamless whole-home Wi-Fi network. It can additionally operate in Access Point mode when you need to add Wi-Fi to an existing wired network.
Security and management features include WPA/WPA2/WPA3 support on current versions, SPI firewall, guest networking, parental controls, access control, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, and VPN server support. Configuration and everyday management are made easier through the TP-Link Tether app.
